About this blog

Experiences. Beliefs. Imagination. These abstractions of our past, present and future are collectively what defines us as an individual.Exbeim button 2 is intended to be my personal repository- it materialized out of the need for organizing and sharing the results of endless hours I’ve (?wasted) in surfing the web and reading obscure articles, journals and books.

Currently, I’ve categorized the content in three parts:

Technologies:

As I explore technologies (part of my work and passion), I’m fascinated by their potential. This section is where I briefly write about them, sub-categorizing them into ‘Evolutionary’ or ‘Revolutionary’. Evolutionary ones are the next step in development of a given technology, whereas revolutionary ones are one step beyond- they have the potential to completely change the status quo, disrupt the way things are done.

Websites:

These websites are the ones I’ve felt were worth adding to my favorites folder in one way or other. Not that they are my favorites (literally), but I wanted to hang on to their links for some reason – either they were too cool (ones that make you go ‘Why didn’t I think of this?’) , or so absurd that you wonder why did anyone put their time in it, or just plain useful. Hence the sub-categories:

  • Cool: These stand out as the stuff you wish you had thought of
  • Weird: Eclectic, eccentric ones.. thier uselessness makes them stand out
  • Useful: Tools/Resources you and I can use as web surfers
  • Interesting: A catch-all bucket. Things stay here till I classify them

Personal:

Don’t bother checking this. It’s just a collection of random thoughts, items, quotes etc. I dont have any place to keep them, so I just pen them here. Whatever, Whenever. The categorization changes often, but for now i’ve planned it like this:

  • Musings:  Stuff that I think about (Some are private- restricted access)
  • Collectibles:
    • Design: Every now and then I run into things that have extraordinary design. Whether it’s a website with fantastic user interface or contemporary furniture, I try to preserve the link under this category.
    • Job titles: An American delight – I find it fascinating how everyone has a serious, heavy-weight title in the workforce these days. If you don’t know what ‘Cryptozoologist’ means, maybe this section would be worth a look.
    • Phrases: I find it fascinating how people use some phrases to demonstrate an opinion/feeling. If you don’t understand what ‘pulling teeth’, ‘egg on our face’ mean, maybe you’ll find this section interesting.
    • Quotes : Everyone else seems to have one of these, so why not.

Feel free to send in comments or additions to anything above. Make me feel like I’m not the only one spending time in this…
