Terrafugia, Inc. plans to blur the line between land and air travel. They are working on the design of a road-able aircraft called ‘Transition’ that will be able to fold up it’s wings and drive like a motor-vehicle. So you can land at the airport, and drive straight home to step out in your garage directly.
They are a great example of what I mean by ‘disruptive’ technology. If their$148,000 vehicle makes the the projected delivery timeline of late 2009, it’ll be the start of a revolutionary way of travelling 100-500 mile trips. It’s about time that became a reality.
